Quote - Tough Times

"In our darkest hours it seems that only the clock is there to mark the time passing.

Through determination we keep pushing forward, because we know there is an end in sight.

Even though there are times when the clock is not our friend, and we can swear when we stare that hand has started going against us.

But truly it is our only marker that someday soon we will return to ourselves once again."

Essential Authenticity

Revealing Your True Self

Our true selves exist whether we acknowledge them or not, often buried under fears and learned behavior.

Identity is an elusive concept. We feel we must define ourselves using a relatively small selection of roles and conscious character traits, even if none accurately represents our notion of "self." The confusion surrounding our true natures is further compounded by the fact that society regularly asks us to suppress so much of our emotional, intellectual, and spiritual vibrancy. Yet we are, in truth, beings of light—pure energy inhabiting physical bodies, striving for enlightenment while living earthly lives. Our true selves exist whether we acknowledge them or not, often buried under fears and learned behavior. When we recognize our power, our luminosity, and our divinity, we cannot help but live authentic lives of appreciation, potential, fulfillment, and grace.

At birth and throughout your childhood, your thoughts and feelings were more than likely expressions of your true self. Though you may have learned quickly that to speak and act in a certain fashion would win others' approval, you understood innately that you were no ordinary being. There are many ways you can recapture the authenticity you once articulated so freely. Meditation can liberate you from the bonds of those earthly customs that compel you to downplay your uniqueness. Also, communing with nature can remind you of the special role you were meant to play in this lifetime. In order to realize your purpose, you must embrace your true self by letting your light shine forth, no matter the consequences.

Rediscovering who you are apart from your roles and traits takes time and also courage. If, like many, you have denied your authenticity for a long while, you may find it difficult to separate your true identity from the identity you have created to cope with the world around you. Once you do find this authentic self, however, you will be overcome by a wonderful sense of wholeness as you reconcile your spiritual aspect and your physical aspect, as well as your inner- and outer-world personas. As you gradually adjust to this developing unity, your role as a being of light will reveal itself to you, and you will discover that you have a marvelous destiny to fulfill.

Quote - Stress

"Anytime you feel yourself stressing try to remember that stress kills. So if someone else is the cause of your stress they are killing you, and if you are the cause; you are killing yourself."

People Can't Change?

Everyday and in every moment I can define who I am.

Each choice I make creates the person I can become.

Have you ever heard that old adage that 'People Can't Change'? How can this be true; if in every moment I decide what it means to be me. Every thought, word, and action I take; manifests who I am.

To change who you are only takes the simplest act. If you do not like that thought, word, or action that you just expressed, or if you feel that it does not represent you. Make a mental note. Tell yourself: "That is not me, or who I want to be; I will not think, say, or do that again!".

Remember everyday is a chance to determine who you are!

Big Girls Do Cry!

I would rather take the negativity given to me by others, and show the "weakness"; and cry it out than to keep passing it around the world.

The salt from my tears would do the earth so much more good than passing that negativity on.

Music Sharing - Humanity's Goodness Compilation

I heard this song on the radio this morning, and I really love the message behind it. Lately I've been listening to 99.7 KSTAR Country because they play a much wider variety of music than it's country music station bretheren.  My favorite line in the song is:
"But if your eyes are open and your mind is free..
There's no tellin' what a man can be..."

~*~*~*~*~
This song is on the opening of The Feel Good Lifesytle's video's.  They use the chorus, and that is the part that I enjoy the most as well.  I will be honest I've listened to rap in the past and have enjoyed many songs, so I do like Flo Rida's style.  He also comes from Florida where I lived for three years.  My general feeling about this guy is that he's a good person, but this is a gut feeling and not based on anything that may have happened in the celebrity news that I haven't heard about.  I always try to have an open mind, and hope that you do as well!  Enjoy!

~*~*~*~*~
Just to throw everyone for a loop and to show that it doesn't matter the genre of the music as long as the message is the same.  This song is from one of my new favorite artists Florence + The Machine.  Her sound is unlike any I've heard, and she definitely knows how to be true to herself!  As you listen to this song think about someone in your life who's got the love and makes going through life a bit easier for you.  Maybe you should send them this video, or at least do something nice for them soon.  And if you are that person you deserve a massage!  :o)
~*~*~*~*~
Well I found out that the chorus of Flo Rida's song actually came from an electronica song, so I thought I would include that here as well!

Think about this next time you are angry and find yourself shouting...

(Found on inter-net)

A Hindu saint who was visiting the river Ganges to take a bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. Smiling, he turned to his disciples and asked, ‘Why do people in anger shout at each other?’

The disciples thought for a while, and then one of them said,

‘Because when we lose our calm, we shout.’

‘But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner,’ asked the saint.

The disciples gave more answers but none satisfied the saint. Finally he explained:

‘When two people are angry at each other, the distance between their hearts is larger. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don’t shout at each other but talk softly, because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small…’

The saint continued, ‘When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally,a lovely old couple-they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that’s all that is needed to convey. That is how close two people are when they love each other.’

He looked at his disciples and said,

‘So when you argue, do not let your hearts get distant. Do not say words that distance you from each other more, or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not be able to find the path to return.’

Love be with you

Storm 07/25/11

We had a fierce little storm blow over us last night.

We stood outside watching the approaching dark clouds. Listening to the thunder respond to the flashes of lightning.

The dogs did not seem to share our curiosity in watching the storm roll in. The younger dog sat between us like we were her sentries against Mother Nature. The older dog vocalized his disapproval of the audacity of the storm coming into his territory repeatedly.

We were wondering how long we would be able to watch the oncoming torrent before we ourselves were chased inside. It was not long regretfully. After about ten minutes into the show someone above opened the gates and the water poured down. After being down poured upon we proceeded on with our evening routine, but found ourselves peeking out because the storm was becoming unruly.

Loose limbs were being dislodged from trees, and we were thankful we had taken the time to pick up all of the free items before it became so drafty.

Later after everything had calmed again; we went back outside to enjoy the cooler weather and the beautiful Texas sky which is always that more engrossing after a storm.

This storm for me, this particular day, was a very enjoyable one.

Bike Ride 06/19/11

We headed out for our first long ride.  We were complete with our bike route trackers and our filled water bottles.  We headed up a different way than usual.  We tried our hand at some off road action.  I think doing well on this part led us to be a bit more confident on our bikes in general.

We headed down our known path to explore finally where it ended.  We past our place we knew and headed our further, eventually we hit the dead end at Cypresswood.  We turned around to head back.  When we hit Jones again and the place to make the circle to get back on the road the simple words flew out of my mouth.  “Let’s go straight”.  And we were off on our off road adventure.

We climbed up and down till we disturbed the woodland creatures.  Five deer sped off into the forest; us interrupting their evening drink.  One seemed to linger a little trying to decide if we were going to just continue on our way and if it was worth the effort to run.  As my husband pulled out his phone to take a picture the last one decided to head in our opposite direction, following the others.

As we continued on we saw many beautiful areas tucked like hidden gems between the populace.  Not knowing where we were going and the impending dark gave the ride a little bit of excitement.  We followed our ears like good little survivalists, and ended up coming out just off of 249 & Cypresswood.  Yet before we discovered exactly where we were our little heads popped up right at an on ramp to the freeway.  How weird is it to find yourself in relation to the freeway without your car.

The journey back after we located ourselves was trying. I think because now we knew where we were, but we also knew that we were still far from home. Some of walking beside the bike was necessary. But in the end we made it home safe, and had a wonderful time.
